About Rio Raft & Resort on the Guadalupe River

Rio Raft & Resort opened as River Valley Campround in 1977 with the same two partners and owners as today. The property was overgrown with cedar and mesquite trees, had no utilities or roads but had a lot of potential. Years earlier, the mostly German citizens used the riverfront as a park and for a short time, the property was the site of a community center call Wahalla.
After months of hand clearing, road work and construction of a small storage building which served as an office, RV hookups were installed along the tree line overlooking the Guadalupe. The current store/office building was constructed in 1978.
New in 2011 - just upstream from the resort! Built FOR SALE to nine lucky owners -a three story river -view Condominium with three 2 bedroom units and six 3 bedroom units, all with private decks or balconies and a private entrance to the condo. A Fun, Family Oriented, Resort on the Guadalupe River

Rio Raft & Resort provides many exciting and fun activities on and around the Guadalupe River. Float down the river in a tube, raft, inflatable canoe, sit-on-top kayak for 2 to 6 hour trips on the beautiful Guadalupe river. Floating down the river not your thing? Swim in our beach-entry pool or rent a boat and go fishing for rainbow trout, brown trout, Guadalupe bass, and more. Consider staying the night in one of our 21 cottages with kitchenettes, bring your Church or Scout group on one of our campsites, or bring your RV! We so enjoyed our stay here. Everything was very clean-from the kitchen to the bathroom, to the pool!

We had a wonderful time. I stayed with my husband and another couple the weekend of May 13th in cabin 3A at Rio Raft. It was perfect! Price is right, staff is friendly, convenient escort to the river to float, everything you may have forgotten can be found at the property store, beautiful view of the river from the cottage, perfect size cottage for 4! We will be back!
